Tikal

Tikal is probably the most famous Mayan archaeological site. It is huge and most of the site is still covered by jungle. The third picture shows a building completely covered in tree roots and much of the site is like this. As you walk through the jungle from one temple to the next, howler monkeys and spider monkeys swing in the trees above you and toucans and other exotic birds fly past.
